CBS News reported that President Donald Trump acknowledged the Iran war was "partially to blame" for Republican losses in the midterm elections, but said he did not regret launching it. The report was carried in the network's live coverage.

The New York Times reported that commentators abroad wondered what the president's electoral losses might mean for oil prices, the war on Iran and the "end of the Trump era." The report was written by Damien Cave.

Fox News reported that Pedro Sánchez said Americans voted against "hate and climate denial" as European leaders reacted to the Democratic Party's 2026 midterm victories.

The three reports describe the same election results from different vantage points. According to the summaries, CBS News focused on the president's remarks about the war, The New York Times focused on commentary abroad about oil prices and the conflict, and Fox News focused on statements by foreign leaders. Fox News described the outcome as Democratic victories, while CBS News described it as Republican losses.

The summaries of the three reports do not give vote totals, seat counts or the dates on which the foreign reactions were issued. CBS News reported that Trump said he did not regret launching the war, a point that neither The New York Times nor Fox News addressed in the summaries available for this report.
