President Trump issued two proclamations on Tuesday, Election Day, according to The Hill. One was titled "the American Declaration of Freedom in Space," which The Hill reported states that the solar system and outer space are open to exploration, development, use, and the establishment of a permanent presence by U.S. citizens.

The Hill reported that a second proclamation, also signed by Trump, addresses anti-communism. The summary of that report does not describe the second proclamation's contents, so its specific provisions cannot be reported here.

In a weekly roundup of the week's political news, The Guardian reported that Trump, standing at the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool on Monday afternoon, focused on his closing message before the midterm elections and on what the paper described as the "beautification of Washington."

The Guardian wrote that this focus, along with attention to Fox News ratings, did not prevent Democrats from winning decisively in the midterm elections. The summary does not give the results of those races, the margins of victory, or the offices contested.

The headline of The Guardian's roundup refers to a deflection of blame, but the summary does not explain what blame was deflected or by whom. Both accounts are drawn from summaries of the reports, so the full texts of the proclamations and the complete Guardian article were not available for this story.
