- According to The Guardian, six people were killed and 15 injured after a shooting in a market square in Kraków, Poland. The newspaper cited a statement by local police on X saying that a man had driven into the square at about 3pm and began "firing at random people from his car."

The Guardian reported that the man was caught while trying to flee. Its summary said the shots were fired from his car in Poland's second city.

Fox News reported that the gunman, who was reportedly wearing military-style fatigues, allegedly opened fire from a moving vehicle on Kraków's Main Square, killing five and injuring at least 12 people. Its headline gave a toll of six dead and at least 11 wounded.

The two outlets differ on the casualty figures. The Guardian's count of six dead and 15 injured does not match the five killed and at least 12 injured in the Fox News summary, and the Fox News headline gives six dead. Neither outlet's material, as summarized, explains the difference.

The outlets also describe the location differently. The Guardian referred to a market square, while Fox News named Kraków's Main Square. Fox News alone reported the gunman's clothing, which The Guardian's summary does not mention.

Neither The Guardian nor Fox News, in the summaries available, gave a motive for the attack.
