CBS News reported that Democratic Representative Jason Crow told Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan that his party has several challenges in this midterm election. The network's video report on the interview records his remarks, and the wording below follows the published excerpt.

CBS News reported that Crow named three opponents Democrats are running against: Donald Trump, MAGA extremism, and corruption. He then said that Democrats are also "running against our own history to some degree," a phrase the summary gives without further elaboration.

The Guardian reported, in an explainer by David Smith in Washington, that on 3 November US citizens will decide whether Republicans retain control of Congress or whether Democrats come to power to stymie Trump's agenda. The Guardian explainer on the US midterm elections states that Donald Trump will still be US president on the morning of 4 November.

The Guardian also reported that Trump could face a very different political landscape on 4 November, depending on the results of the midterm elections held the previous day. The summary of that report ends before it finishes explaining what a midterm election is, so the rest of its account is not available here.

The two reports cover different aspects of the campaign. CBS News recorded a Democratic lawmaker's description of his party's challenges, while The Guardian addressed the election date and what the results could mean. Neither source gives details of specific races, polling, or responses from Republicans or the White House.
